I've found that snack bags are great stash busting projects as they require only a portion of a fat quarter so i've pillaged my stash to create a wide variety of bags. My favorite so far is a set made from unbleached cotton and adorned with soft grey lace.
Although the summer month away. I'm already thinking a head to the fall. I've just added a new set of snack bags and sandwich bags to the shop to prepare for summer travel and fall lunches.

Spring is still tea weather in the pacific north west. Personally I drink hot tea all year round, but that's just me. Corry has created a lovely tea themed treasury and included one of my coaster in it. Thanks. I should also point out that I love the teat time clock by LAMdesigns (www.LAMdesigns.etsy.com) and the tea cup poster print from Handz (www.handz.etsy.com). Really all the items are great. 'Tea Time' by corrypepper There is nothing more that I live for each day than to sit down with my cup of tea. Enjoy! |

“Let them Eat Cake” in English
These famous little words have been attributed to Marie Antoinette.
To celebrate or at least acknowledge the month of treats, chocolate and candy hearts I’ve created a little food themed cross stitch and mounted it in an oval frame. Little oval frames are fast becoming my favorite type of mount when not framed as it add a bit of uniqueness to the piece without adding weight or detracting from the stitching.

My Lavender Dots were featured in a lovely treasury! One of these I've got to figure out how to make these on Etsy.
Lavender Dot Eye Pillows are petit aromatherapy pillows especially designed to sooth tiered eyes. I made them as gifts for a bunch of pregnant friends as a little something for the mom-to-be. After being snowed in for a week I finished a group of these that I had begun years ago. They are officially a new item in my shop and I'm hoping they become popular.
I often read the features seller articles on Etsy for inspiration. Leah Duncan has a wonderful outlook on life and motto that I not only find fitting for my love of tea but also something that I think I'll use from time to time. "I want sugar in my tea" the idea that living life in the pursuit of sugar ones goals, dreams and happiness will bring a sweetness to life. How lovely is that?
Leah's shop on etsy is located here: www.leahduncan.etsy.com
The Holidays are fast Approaching. To prepare I have joined the Etsy Holiday Boot Camp for the second year and a row. Which got me thinking about how much has happened in the last year. Despite a few business setback which shall go unnamed I am happy to report that 2011 has been a great year for Stitch Duchess.

May is bicycle Awareness Month. One of my favorite activities that begins in may and continues through the summer is Bicycle Sunday. Lake Washington Blvd is closed off to cars from Mt. Baker beach all the way to Seward park to allow cyclist of all ages and abilities to travel along the scenic stretch of roadway without fear of cars. May 8th is the first of 12 Sundays this even will take place. Even though I haven't owned a bike since the 1990's this event is fun for walkers strollers. To learn more about the event see the Seattle Parks and Recreation website at http://www.seattle.gov/parks/bicyclesunday/
Spring weather and the beginning of the outdoor season inspired a new bike item in my shop. The Bike Beanie. While a fleece hat may not seem like spring attire in Seattle its the perfect accessory.
